Oven-baked Onion Rings

Products Used: Kellogg's Corn Flakes* Cereal
Servings: 24


  • 8 cups crushed Kellogg’s Corn Flakes*cereal
  • 2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Dried oregano
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 8 Egg whites
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 4 large Onions


1. Combine cereal, garlic, salt, and oregano. Place flour in a pie plate or bowl; set aside.
2. In bowl, beat egg whites and water with fork until thoroughly combined.
3. Cut onion into 1/2-inch thick slices. Separate slices into rings.
4. Dip onion in flour, then into egg white mixture. Coat with cereal mixture. Carefully repeat dipping in egg mixture and cereal mixture to double coat onion rings completely.
5. Place in single layer on foil-lined baking sheet coated with cooking spray. Lightly spray onion rings.
6. Bake in preheated 400° F oven about 8 minutes or until onion rings are tender and lightly browned.
